Why We Went To Mass

This is an explanation that Paige wrote about Ash Wednesday.
Thanks Paige, you did an excellent job!

Today we went to Mass because it was Ash Wednesday. It was held in the Mission Centre. It was at 9 o'clock.
Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent. Lent is for forty days and for forty nights, when Jesus prayed in the desert before he died.
We got ashes on our foreheads to remind us of when we die and turn in to dust. Fr Dan put the ashes on our forehead. The (shape of) ashes that Fr Dan put on our heads were crosses and he said Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return, and then we had some songs.
I had a fun time going outside and getting the ashes being put 0n my forehead.
The whole school loved the mass-it was AWESOME.
