Jamal and Evie got JNS goodie bags for being great leaders and helping Rob with the garden club. They get the gear out, look after the little children and help Rob to keep our school looking fabulous.
Andrea and the firelady came to present the awards.
Harley got one too for being a great helper to his Gran when it was snowing. WELL DONE
Our class has 25 students from year 3 and 4. We are a multicultural class who all love working together.

Trees for Canterbury visit
Rain and sleet stopped Room 3 from going to Trees for Canterbury on Monday and we could not plant trees at Charlesworth Reserve either.
Steve from Trees for Canterbury sent us a text and said he would come to see us at school. So he arrived just after play at 11 oclock. He showed us a lot of native trees and told us why they were so special. He told us all about how people collect the seeds, prick them out and plant them at the nursery. Then when the plants are big enough, people can buy them for their gardens. What a great way to keep our native trees in Canterbury. That's sustainability all right.
Steve gave us a pepper tree to plant at school but no one has had to eat the leaf of the tree yet...it tastes like pepper .YUCK!
Thanks Steve for coming- it was great to see you and you know a lot about trees. Paige

Puppet Show
Kauri put on a puppet show about Little Red Riding Hood. It was really funny. The children put a lot of work in to trying to make the puppets move and read the lines at the same time.

Snow Milo Club
On Wednesday morning it was snowing very heavily so some children did not come to school. At 11 o'clock Mr C said we would go home when our parents came to get us.
It took a while for some of us to be picked up so this is what we did while we waited.
Finn was looking for some music so he could listen to something while he was waiting...
...Harley and some other children got to have a cup of hot cocoa in the staffroom to keep them warm while they were waiting...
... Letone and Charlie were playing Kidspix and they drew swords and knights while they were waiting.
We all had a good time before we went home.
